- Enhanced content
and divided into four focused documents:
- Added new
sections and variables introduced in SiteSearch 4.1.0, variables
applicable to Record Builder databases (local databases created
and/or updated with the Record Builder application), thesaurus databases,
and holdings databases.
- Revised format
to clarify database types applicable to each section and variable,
indicating whether variables are optional or required, default values,
and lists of allowable values.

- Expanded documentation is now available for the Access component:
- Access
Component Overview - Describes the purpose of the Access component,
the elements that comprise the Access component, and the Access
component in different SiteSearch environments (WebZ and WebZ/Record
Builder). It also includes a list of available documentation for
the Access component.
- Configuring
the Access Component for WebZ (UNIX), Configuring
the Access Component for WebZ (Windows NT), and Testing
the Access Component Configuration for WebZ - These documents
have been revised for SiteSearch 4.1.0 and renamed to indicate that
they pertain to using the Access component with WebZ.
- Configuration
Files that Support the Access Component - Explains how a number
of configuration files provide information necessary to support
the Access component for WebZ and Record Builder.
- accessdb
Database - Presents the schema for the accessdb database by
describing the purpose of each table, the structure of each table,
and the relationships among the tables. Also explains how a sample
data file included with WebZ for both UNIX and Windows NT systems
illustrates some possible uses of this database.
- mSQL
Scripts and Templates (UNIX) - Describes the mSQL scripts and
templates available to assist UNIX users to create and maintain
the two Access component databases: accessdb for controlling access
to WebZ and rbdb for controlling access to Record Builder
- Configuring
the Access Component for Record Builder (UNIX), Configuring
the Access Component for Record Builder (Windows NT), and Testing
the Access Component Configuration for Record Builder - These
documents explains how to configure the Access component for Record
Builder in UNIX and Windows NT operating systems, respectively,
and how to test this configuration.
- rbdb
Database - Presents the schema for the rbdb database by describing
the purpose of each table, the structure of each table, and the
relationships among the tables. Also explains how a sample data
file included with Record Builder for both UNIX and Windows NT systems
illustrates some possible uses of this database.

provides an overview of some of the major components and changes found

- Index page for Record Builder. Beginning with the SiteSearch 4.1.0
release, Record Builder is shipped as part of Database Builder. Record
Builder is an end-user application built on WebZ technology. Record
Builder is specifically designed for you to create, modify, and maintain
local collections of sound files, images, Web sites, and data. Through
its own pre-built Web interface, it offers an alternative to batch updating
for cataloguers who need to add, modify, and delete records one at a
time.
- WebZ
Rules-Based Formatting - Overview of and links to detailed information
about rules-based formatting. Beginning in SiteSearch 4.1.0, rules-based
formatting becomes an option for formatting data for presentation in
the WebZ interface. Instead of programming and compiling Java source
code files, implementing WebZ rules-based
formatting involves:

Cross-Database Searching Functionality
- Describes WebZ's basic
cross-database searching functionality and the following enhancements
to cross-database searching in SiteSearch 4.1.0:

and Vocabulary-Assisted Searching - Introduces
you to vocabulary-assisted searching and the way in which WebZ implements
it. It includes links to other topics that explain WebZ's processing
flow during vocabulary-assisted searching, the configuration files that
affect vocabulary-assisted searching, step-by-step procedures for enabling
vocabulary-assisted searching, and a detailed look at the way in which
the WebZ OBI, version 1, demonstrates vocabulary-assisted searching.

functionality - Improved search functionality allows you to search
the Help Zone as a whole or each zone within the Help Zone The available
zones include the documentation, API documentation (javadoc), support,
and community zone. Advanced search functionality is available and from
the proximity based results screen you can view similar documents as
well as documents that link to the given document.

to WebZ - A system overview of what WebZ is, how libraries can work
with WebZ, what WebZ does, and how to begin working with WebZ.
