Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery and Full Text

After finding an item of interest, users have many options for accessing that item online. With WebZ, libraries offer full-text online, interlibrary loan, or document ordering options to their users from the Web browser. WebZ simplifies access to these resources and services by allowing libraries to provide access directly from the search interface.

With this Open SiteSearch WebZ feature, users can initiate interlibrary loan and document delivery (ILL/DD) requests from their Web browsers. WebZ transmits ILL/DD requests through messages conforming to the ISO ILL protocols or using the Z39.50 Item Order service.

This feature gives libraries the power to include authorization checks, complete all relevant user and bibliographic information on the request, display copyright warnings, and reduce entry of ILL/DD requests by library staff.

Additionally, users can view the full text of a document from their Web browsers.
