You will also need to complete the following tasks if you want to provide patron authentication with the Access component or allow external Z39.50 clients to access the ZBase server directly to search Z39.50 and non-Z39.50 resources without going through the JaSSI server and the Out-of-the-Box Interface (OBI).

  • Configure the Access component to provide user name and password, Internet Protocol (IP), or Domain Name Service (DNS) authentication to the JaSSI and ZBase servers.
  • Configure the ZBroker server to allow external Z39.50 clients access to your Z39.50 and non-Z39.50 resources. After you have completed this configuration, follow the instructions below to start and stop the WebZ system with the ZBroker server.
