Deleting
Pears Database Logs
In order to create
a fresh log each time you perform an update function on a Pears
database, you need to delete or rename the current log file. You can
delete a log file either by directly deleting it in the logs subdirectory
for a database or by using SSDOT for Pears.
The procedure below instructs you on how to delete old log files using
SSDOT for Pears.
Note: |
Unless
you regularly delete the existing log.txt file for a database, by
default, SSDOT for Pears continuously
appends log information to the end of the same log.txt file after
each update. The log.txt file is located in the logs subdirectory
for the specified database. An example logs subdirectory for the marcus
database might be <WebZ_root>/dbbuilder/dbs/marcus/logs. |

of the file's name or extension. So, if you wish to keep some
of the files currently located in the logs subdirectory, you
need to copy them to another directory before performing the
delete action in SSDOT. |
