Procedure 6: Modify the Interface Display Configuration File (Optional)

For a new format, you need to change the interface display configuration file. In order to implement a format definition with a new name, you must cross-reference it under the appropriate record display formatting gadget specification in the interface display configuration file.

Procedure

Perform the following procedure to update the interface display configuration file to include a new format.

1. Open the affected interface display configuration file using your text editor.

2. In the interface display configuration file, reference the new display format (the same one you listed in the database configuration file) by typing its name as the value for the fmt parameter under the correct record display formatting gadget specification.

Example:

[BriefResultsRecord]
gadget = ORG.oclc.gadgets.FormatRecordsWithDuplicates
fmt = briefest
dataWrapper = briefhtml
startRecno = toprecno
duplicatesFmt = briefduplicates

Note: Which interface display configuration file you modify depends on whether you choose to view results using the frames or no-frames style.

3. Save and exit the interface display configuration file when you have finished editing it.
