• Initialize database

  • calls the initdb program.
    

• Update database

  • converts records to BER (or copies BER file).
  • calls pippin, sortnip and rome.
  • automatically ‘grows’ the database if necessary.
  • if an error occurs, a message will ask you to look at the logs.
