Starting
the WebZ System
The following
steps describe how to start the WebZ system.
Note: |
Start all
SiteSearch processes (Web server, SQL server, and WebZ) under the
same user name you used to install the SiteSearch software. |
1. Verify
that your Web server is running.
If you are
using the Apache server that was included with the WebZ installation,
refer to Starting and Stopping the Apache Server.
|
2. Do you
wish to use the Access component to provide patron authentication
and profiling?
- Yes.
Start the SQL server:
- No. Go
directly to step 3.
|
3. In the
<WebZ_root>/scripts directory, type "ssadmin" and
press Enter. This starts the OpServe server. The OpServe server
then starts the JaSSI, ZBase, and Access servers. OpServe also starts
the ZBroker server if it has been configured to work with the WebZ
system. The system is fully operational at this point.
Important
Note: If you did not start the SQL server to provide user authentication,
the Access server shuts down immediately after it is started.
