Hotel and Transportation Information The 2002 OCLC SiteSearch
Open Source User Meeting was held May 2-3, 2002 at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio
in the Conference Center located in the Smith Building. OCLC provided
the following information for meeting attendees who needed to make hotel
and ground transportation arrangements while staying in Dublin, Ohio.
Meeting attendees were responsible for their own hotel charges and other
travel expenses. Transportation While most of the Dublin hotels do not provide airport transportation, you can use a taxi, a shuttle service, or a rental car to travel from the airport to your hotel. Taxis Taxis cost approximately $50 + tip one way. Shuttle Service OCLC now has a preferred provider for ground transportation. Royal Livery Service provides service to/from the three Dublin exits to/from the airport for $45.00 per SEDAN (not per person) which includes tax and gratuity (OCLC's rate). A 3% fuel charge is also added. Reservations must be made in advance and you must request the OCLC rate. You may make the reservation by one of the following methods:
Royal Livery will need the following information:
1) Depart through any of the baggage claim level doors and CAREFULLY cross all the crosswalks and turn to the south (left) and proceed to the end where you will see a sign on the column stating “Prearranged Livery Vehicles." Royal Livery vehicles will have their hazard lights flashing. 2) This alternative avoids crossing the lanes of traffic listed above. Proceed through the baggage claim level and follow the signs for ground transportation. This will lead you down the escalator from the baggage claim level to the moving walkways. You will see the ground transportation sign up on the right-hand side. Proceed up the escalator. At the top of the escalator turn in the immediate opposite direction (180 degree turn) and proceed south to meet your driver. You will see a sign on the column stating “Prearranged Livery Vehicles.” Royal Livery Service vehicles will have their hazard lights flashing.
Rental Cars Major rental car companies also have airport locations. Dublin is located approximately 40 minutes driving time from the Port Columbus airport and does not have a public transportation system, nor are taxis readily available. For better mobility, you may wish to have a rental car. A series of maps showing Dublin's location in relation to the airport as well as the OCLC campus is available at our Web site: Use these maps to provide you with directions to OCLC. Once you reach OCLC's campus, follow the signs to the Conference Center in the Smith Building. The User Meeting will be held in the Smith Building Boardroom and meeting rooms. The Smith Building is located at 6600 Frantz Road, Dublin, OH 43017. Hotel Accommodations OCLC guests can receive special rates at the following hotels. Please make reservations by calling the hotel directly and please identify yourself as being with OCLC to make sure you get the special rate. Reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card or one night's deposit by check or cash. Meeting attendees will be responsible for their own hotel charges and other travel expenses.
